ALUPRO IRELAND
CAN COLLECTION COMPETITION 2010

Alupro Ireland has sponsored an aluminium can recycling competition, for Primary and Secondary Schools as part of the National Spring Clean, for the past four years. Last year we had both quantity and quality with St. Oliver’s Primary School Killarney collecting the largest quantity of cans in the competition and Scoil Mhuire Secondary Trim designing a comfy sofa from the cans they collected during their Spring Clean.

This year we would like you to do something imaginative and different with a strong environmental theme. We have had everything from ‘ the can man’ to sofas- from model helicopters to can crushers made of used aluminium can, so if you have any ideas, please get your entries in – it will be worth it!

Both Primary and Secondary are in with a chance of winning €500 each, just by sending in a photo of the cans they collect during their clean-ups. The cans may be displayed in a creative manner or simply

put in clear plastic bags (Provided with NSC clean-up kit), entrees will be judged on creativity as well as quantity! As this year is the global year for Biodiversity it may be a good theme to use... for ideas log on to www.aluproireland.ie

It’s as simple as this;

Please email a picture of your entry, including the spring clean reps, to info@aluproireland.ie making sure to provide your school contact details and roughly the number of cans collected.(Average is 150 un-squashed cans per bag). Alternatively, you can post your picture, along with your schools details and the approximate number of cans collected to:
